Device not detected by the system

Device not detected by the system

SYMPTOMS

You connect the device to your computer and nothing happens. There is no "USB Connected sound", the device is not present in Aviatek Connector or Device Manager.

Another symptom could be that the device is detected by the system but you get a message from Windows saying that the connected device is not working correctly.

EXPLANATION

Sometimes it may happen that either the internal firmware or memory gets corrupted. Usually if the power is cut to the device in a wrong moment.

SOLUTION

We have means to force the device into what we call Service Mode in which it boots up into a special mode allowing you to upload new firmware which fixes the problem in most cases.

The procedure is the same for any Aviatek product with the exception that for each device it requires a different button to be pressed.

Please follow the steps below to try to enter the Service Mode and re-upload the firmware:

  1. Unplug the power and usb cables from this device.
  2. It's also recommended to unplug other Aviatek devices as well so we work with only single device at a time.
  3. Open Aviatek Connector and make sure that flight simulator is not currently opened.
  4. Press and hold pressed the special button on the device. Below you can find list of what button to press on what device.
  5. Plug in the power and usb cables back into the device while still holding the special button pressed. This is very important!
  6. You should see the following message in the Aviatek Connector:

  7. You can now release the special button and click Yes.
  8. Connector will try to upload new firmware to the device after which it should appear in your system and work normally.

If the above procedure works for you but the device is still not detected by the system, it's possible that the internal memory is corrupted rather than firmware and this requires resetting of the internal memory which can be only done by our technician (remotely). Please contact us at support@aviatek.com to schedule a remote support session.
