Aviatek Connector crashes with missing SimConnect.dll message

SYMPTOMS

When Aviatek Connector tries to connect with MSFS it crashes with the following message:

Could not load file or assembly 'LockheedMartin.Prepar3D.SimConnect.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.

EXPLANATION

It's quite possible that some of the SimConnect dependencies are missing.

SOLUTION

Try installing or repairing the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013
Make sure you use x86 version as the dll version we use is actually 32 bits!
