App doesn't open or crashes immediately at startup

App doesn't open or crashes immediately at startup

SYMPTOMS

You double click the Aviatek Connector app icon but nothing happens or it opens but immediately crashes.

EXPLANATION

It's quite possible that the system config file stored intrenally in the operating system got corrupted.

This is a file in which Windows keeps all the internal app settings.

This can happen if either app crashes or you force the PC off (or your light goes off!) and you were so unlucky that the app was writing to this file at this exact moment. Bad luck, huh?

SOLUTION

  • Navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Aviatek_Flight_Simulators (*)
  • Open the folder which says AviatekConnector.exe_XXXXXX (random key)
  • Open the folder with the latest version there is
  • Rename the user.config file to user.config.backup
  • Try to open Aviatek Connector now and see if it helped

*) If you can't see the AppData folder, you need to turn on "Show hidden files" option in the Explorer
